Adam's reflections on the event
On Tuesday 31st of October, we had our All Saints Light Party and it was a fun night! We started the night with a star treasure hunt, trying to find different stars hidden around the church, you may even still find some scattered around the church this Sunday. When all of the stars were found, we headed for the link building and shared some food together which everyone enjoyed. Everyone was full up after the food and we spent the rest of the evening crafting and playing games. We made lanterns, concertina candles, stained glass crosses, chalk drawing and did some biscuit decorating. It was a lot of fun. Once we’d made our crafts, we spent the rest of the night playing games and thinking about how Jesus is the light of the world. The dark can be a strange place, it can be a place of comfort when we want to go to sleep but it can also be a place where things that are normally calming to us become scary! Jesus brings us comfort when we have those scary times of our life and can be that light that helps us to feel calm safe and secure.
It was a fantastic evening and was a time where families could come dressed up, have some fun, hear about the Jesus and get loads of sweets! A huge thank you to Pat, Roy and Irene for preparing the food and serving us. Thank you to Mike for helping out and organising the star treasure hunt. Finally, thank you to all of the families that turned up to have fun!
Keep an eye out for some other whole family event happening soon!
Thanks, Adam
